Residential Home Supervisor
Professional Accomplishments
I have 20+ years of experience working with both adults and children with disabilities. I completed my CNA training when I was much younger and worked as a CNA for several years. I then went on to do PCA/DSP work for many years to follow. I ran my own licensed daycare business from my home in Minnesota City for 3 years, and am now using all of my experience in my current position as a Residential Home Supervisor.
My Values
I am a firm believer in being kind to everyone, regardless of their differences or beliefs. I am also a very honest and giving person both at work, and outside of work. I believe that trust is very important in this field – between coworkers as well as between staff and the individuals they support. I take pride in all the work I do. I truly love my job!
Outside of Work
I am married and I have 2 children. My son is 21 years old and my daughter is now 7. I spend a lot of my free time with my family and am very close with my 3 brothers that also live here in Winona. One of my brothers is autistic and lives in a residential home, so I have experience from both sides.
Fun Fact
I have always said that people with disabilities are able to “read” other people very accurately. They know right away if your heart is in the right place, or if you truly care about the work you’re doing with them. I think that over the years, I have developed this skill too, and I now use it to help others.
