I graduated from Winona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Throughout my college career, I began working for Legacies as a Direct Support Professional in 2015. After a year and a half as a Direct Support Professional, I completed my Social Work Practicum with Legacies and was offered a full-time position as a Designated Coordinator thereafter.
A strong work ethic, empathy, compassion, and determination are at the root of everything that I do when supporting the individuals that I serve at Legacies and their families, as well as my staff. It is a privilege to be able to support kids, adolescents, and adults in achieving their goals to gaining greater independence.
Outside of Work
When I’m not at work, I love to travel. Anything from a short weekend to a new city in Minnesota or traveling across the world to a different continent. I enjoy the spontaneity of traveling and learning about other cultures. A couple of my favorite travel destinations thus far are New Zealand and Switzerland. Aside from traveling, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, boating, being outside, and going to sports games, my favorite being the Chicago Cubs.
This may come as a surprise to some, but I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt. I started Martial Arts when I was eight years old at Nicklaus’ Martial Arts America. I was extremely fortunate to train with exceptionally skilled instructors and students. I began teaching Martial Arts when I was 12 years old and continued to teach until I moved to Winona for college.
